Mobile Vario is a transportation solution that has been implemented in multiple municipalities across the United States, with more implementations in the pipeline. The first few implementations were using Sage 300 as their back-end accounting system, but going forward they wanted to use Sage Intacct for new implementations. An integration was necessary in order to automate information exchange between Mobile Vario and the back-end ERP, and they wanted it to be bi-directional. In addition, to simplify the integration work on Mobile Vario side, it was decided that a set of custom web APIs would be created that would work the same way for Sage 300 and Sage Intacct, so that Mobile Vario didn’t need to get involved in the functional differences of the two ERP systems. Here is how the overall integration looks

Mobile Vario can send sales orders, journal entries, credit notes and payments to Sage via the integration middle ware. On the flip side, Mobile Vario can pull the list of customer transactions, customer balances and account standing information, and download PDF versions of invoices and statements. All this information is exposed to customers via Mobile Vario interface.
A significant advantage of this integration is that the same programming interface is used to talk to Sage 300 as well as Sage Intacct, even though the programming APIs for the two systems are completely different and there are significant differences between how transactions business logic works.
Another successful integration project under the belt.
